What I've Learned

This week I have learned
( OK so it's been more than a week but you get the idea)
-You can not substitute eggs in a box brownie mix no matter what the Internet says
-look 101 times in the fridge for the eggs because they really are right there in front of you
-never hold a baby up over your head, you certainly will get spit up on
-never, EVER hold a baby up over your head with your mouth open, the results are the same as above, only way worse
-I am addicted to vanilla flavored goldfish
I kind of like reflecting back on my week and what I have learned, so I might make this a new segment (yeah you know, in all my spare time I have for blogging)
What have you learned this week??

Zoo 2010

We survived our first zoo outing of the year. It was the first day it was warm enough for me to have Christian out, at least that I felt comfortable doing so. It was beautiful and sunny and if it were just less windy, it would have been perfect. We asked our friend Bethany to come, and she did with her youngest, Castel. And it made things easier for me, so thanks Bethany!!!

Can I Get a Potty Break Please?

Yesterday was a normal morning for us, rush-rush-rush to get out of the house by 8:10 AM to make it the morning class at the gym. The last thing I did was grab Colton's coat out of the closet and zip him up.
During the drive, I was glancing in the rear view mirror and noticed a ton of hair inside the hood of Colton's jacket. I thought man, how did I not notice that when i grabbed it, Colton must have been playing with the dogs last time he had it on.
As soon as I parked, I went straight to Colton. The entire hood of his coat was filled with hair...and it was not DOG hair. I ran my fingers through his hair and a glob came out. I ran my fingers through again....another glob. In that 1 second a million thoughts went through my mind, starting with what is wrong with my baby. My heart started to pound and my chest got tight. Connor must have noticed the fear in my eyes because he says to me
"mommy, don't worry Colton just cut his hair"
WTH???
At this point, you just laugh!

This is Colton pre-cut.
Luckily he has a lot of beautiful thick hair

This is just 1 clump I found on the chair in the arts and crafts room where this little hair cut took place
I already came to terms with the fact that I will never pee alone again. I have to lie about having to poop when Mark is home to steal a few moments of peace, all though there is usually someone banging on the door. I haven't had a shower with the door closed in years. In fact it has been awhile since I've showered alone. I guess I can't even take my bathroom breaks anymore without my entourage-HA!!!

And just for fun...
my happy baby Christian
Good News-
the cyst the doctor found on his man parts is gone (so they think)

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!!
Mark, I love you more today than yesterday
but not as much as tomorrow!!
To all my boys:
You are my world and I celebrate your love every day, but on this day we will celebrate it with chocolate!!
I had to go into work today at PB for a few hours. Once I arrived home, we had about 30 minutes of family time before Mark had to leave for a business trip (he's headed to Florida this week, not OKC). I tried to snap a few family pictures and photos of the boys. I have decided getting all 3 boys still and focused for a photo-op is beyond my control. The big boys were screaming "banana pants" so loud they were scaring Christian.

Here Colton is about to choke Christian and Connor can't get in close enough. Not to worry though, Mark was snapping the pics and I was actually crouched right in front to catch any falling babies!

Now I must say:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!!
I LOVE YOU

Holy Corn Rollers

Picture it...
Tuesday, mid morning, just hanging out with the boys
when suddenly 3 year old Connor says he wants to make and EAT fruit salad for dinner
STOP THE WORLD
Connor wants to eat.something.not junk
Kroger, here we come
Now normally I do my grocery shopping on Wednesday when the big boys are at school. Shopping with 3 kids-not fun. Not to mention there is not much room in the cart. But I decided to give it a whirl. We had a showing that afternoon anyway and had to be out of the house for a couple of hours.
So I took the stroller in for the baby and Colton, but Colton decided he wanted his own cart as well.
God help us
and Kroger
So we picked out all our favorite fruit....strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, pineapple, apples, oranges-the works
ALL for this fruit salad we were going to make and eat for dinner
As we are filling our baskets with our weekly supply of foods and talking about what we are going to eat the rest of the week, Connor asks me
"Mommy, do we need any corn rollers?"
me- "Any what?"
Connor- "Corn Rollers"
me- "Umm, what are corn rollers?"
Connor- "Those" (as he points)
me- "show me I'm not sure what you are pointing to"
It was a bag of frozen corn on the cob
The boys actually did very well. We were not kicked out of the store. Always a good sign. No one threatened to call CPS. Always a very good sign. In fact, I did not even have to threaten a kid with their life. It was a pleasant experience, not one I want to go through every week, but not bad.
So home we went. We washed up our fruit and got out our knives. (The boys do use plastic ones, don't freak out on me now) We went to cutting and snacking and tossing in a bowl. Then mommy (that's me) but the top on the bowl to shake it all up. And their it went!

All over the FREAKING floor!
Holy Corn Rollers
Now I have to mop, AGAIN!!
And no fruit salad for dinner

What a Great Day

Well I am referring to yesterday...it was a SUPER day!!
Let's start with the obvious
SNOW

As I layed in the bed at 4am with the TV on, the news reporter kept talking about snow in the metroplex. I was thinking, yeah whatever! They never get it right. I finally dozed back off only to be woken up by my sweet Connor's voice saying "mommy it's snowing".
And boy was it ever, BIG FLUFFY flakes.
Of course we had to go out and play the instant that baby Christian was snoozing

OK, they do have on coats underneath their rain coats. I dressed them in as many layers as they could stand. I kept adding until their arms good barely bend.

We eventually moved out front so that our neighbor could come out and play too. I am so glad the boys got to see it snow. I will post more pictures of the final result from this morning. It snowed ALL day and we had actually broke records for the area....over 8 inches.
So for the better part of my day...
Wednesday night Christian slept great only waking up to eat 1 time and even then it was just a snack. Then he was on some sort of a schedule yesterday. He got up, hung out and ate, then took a 2 hour morning nap. After his lunch and little more hanging out he had is 2 hour afternoon nap. All this great napping while the big boys got along. It was a long day indoors that I wasn't really prepared for, but it turned out to be one of the best we have had in a while!!!
Just a note-
Several people have asked me if Connor was crying in the new header picture I have up. I can't really remember the exact occasion of the picture, but him crying would not be a shocker. He cries alot these days....his feeling are always hurt or he's wining about something.
For fun-
Why the heck do "they" put non-skid rubber stuff on the bottom of baby socks? Like a 3 month old is gonna suddenly get up and haul ass across the room? Makes me laugh every time I put Christian in a pair of socks with rubber on the bottom!

OKC here we come

So I am not quite sure why I haven't wanted to talk about all our family changes. It has taken me a while to process and sort all my thoughts on it, and to be honest I'm not sure I have really completed the process. However the sign is up and it is all real and happening so there is no more thinking about it.
We are moving to Oklahoma City when our house sells.
Mark began a new job with a new company back at the first of the year. He has been up there ever since, coming home on weekends. I am here trying to keep my sanity while missing him very much. I spent the month of January preparing the house for sale, having some work done and cleaning out closets and such. The sign went up last Monday. So it has been just over a week and we have had 4 showings, but no bites yet.
Keep us in your prayers (and our house) so that we can be together as a family again VERY soon.

Baby Christian

My sweet baby Christian is already 2 months old! He is already weighing in at over 12 pounds!

OK, so most of the pictures here he is sleeping, but don't be fooled. He only sleeps in 5-10 minute increments during the day. At night he is getting better, sometimes going 6 hours. But he has some stomach issues. This is the gassiest baby EVER!!! He can clear a room with his toots. And when he poops....holy Toledo, I have never smelled anything so freaking nasty!! What the heck is this kid eating? So if his stomach didn't hurt, he could probably do some serious snoozin'.

And don't get me started on the puking. Christian is the spitting upest baby. I don't have a shirt left without stains, seriously!! But he just started some acid reflux medicine so it might help with the fussiness. Enough of my mommy bitching, he is a beautiful, healthy baby boy!

Getting a big brother kiss

Well he just filled his pants....gotta go

Catching Up

Hello Blog world,
I have missed you so!!
I know I have been gone a long time, but I have been a bit busier than I anticipated. I have been trying to read all my favorite blogs, but have not been able to post many comments as I often don't have a free hand. For now, I will just try to catch up on everything going ALL the way back to Christmas (funny how it seems so long ago). I will try not to bore you to death with too many details.

We celebrated Christmas morning at home enjoying all of Santa's goodies and the snow outside.

Then we spent the afternoon at the MIL's house. For the first time in over a decade all of Mark's siblings were together for the holiday. Pictured here are my 3 boys their cousins Sydney, Madison, and Carson.

Then the day after Christmas, the boys and I headed to Memphis to spend a week with my family. We had Christmas again. This is POPS and Colton playing with a new toy.

We also celebrated Colton's 2nd birthday there. Not only did this bad mommy not give him his own party here at home with kids but he is not even getting his own post! I will so not be winning the MOTY award again this year!

The birthday boy in his birthday suit

We have already made 1 trip to Chuck E Cheese in 2010

I actually got in a picture (thanks Casey for the new rule).
That is baby Christian all covered up there in the snuggly on my chest. The bad thing about those, they kill your back. The good thing...you don't have to suck in your baby fat gut!

We have showered a few times.
The only way I get one these days is with a kid it seems.

We've made brownies (a couple of times) and I think I have eaten the entire freaking pan.
No wonder I have to wear the snuggly!

HOLA!
Colton looks like a little mexican with his chocolate mustache

We kept these boxes out for over a week until they were completely torn up. The boys stayed very entertained. And to think we just spent all that money on toys and a box is what worked best.

We layed around some

And some more laying, but be careful not to sleep!!

We played doctor (and went to the doc a few times already-Ok just once, but it was an all day event)

We've cried some, but as long as it's not sleeping it's all good!

We've posed for a few pictures

It may look like hugs, but it was really just the start of a great tackle

We, obviously, have NOT fed the dogs. WTH, can they not even wait for the kid to get down?

We've washed dishes, in the nude. Good thing I wasn't in that picture HA!
Good....
Now we are all caught up. Maybe I can get back in the swing of things and stay on top of my posts and readings. However I make no promises!! I have 3 boys now (and that is the excuse I use for EVERYTHING these days)!
