MS Visit So Far

And some April birthday shout-outs....

My BIL, Tommy, celebrated his 41st on April 18. Poor guy, who married into this crazy family, has been around longer than he has not. I certainly consider him more than just a BIL, he is my brother. This is an old picture from when Colton was born. But he has his eyes open so I posted it. Happy Birthday Bro!!
My beautiful, sweet niece Kayla (or KK as she is called by the boys) turned 15 on April 13th. I hope you have a wonderful year and all your wishes come true.
I love you KK!!!

My goofy little nephew Thomas turned 10 on April 22 and we just had his birthday party over the weekend. So glad I got to be involved this year. Happy, happy birthday Thomas.
Welcome to double digits! I love you Thomas!!

My Mawmaw also had her birthday this month, but I posted about it already. I went to go visit her in the "rehab center" (AKA the nursing home) the other day. I don't think she really knew who I was, but she sure welcomed a couple of pictures and even wanted to make ugly faces for one.

I don't want to have to remember her this way, all out of sorts. But I will tell one funny story. She thinks everyone at the nursing home is out to get her and is poisoning her. I must say, they are all very nice. They will walk by and say "hi" or "good morning" to her and she will smile and say "hi" back. Then turn to me (or whoever is with her) and whisper "bitch" with a mean look on her face. Not funny but kind of....can't help but laugh.

My sister gave Connor Nemo swim trunks and shirt for his birthday, but Colton quickly took it over (and put it on over his clothes). Connor then slept in it and wore it the next day. What is it with boys and a favorite outfit/shirt/boots/whatever? Are girls like this too? I don't fight it anymore, pick your battles and all.
(That is my Sister's FIL in the background. His grandkids call him DUDE....how cute is that)

Me and Colton....he is very into me lately, which is annoying and precious all at the same time.

The new puppy that my niece and nephew got for their birthdays. Her name is Chloe and she is so stinking cute!! They recently lost one of their dogs, so Chloe is helping to fill a void.
If only puppy's could stay this size, but without the biting and chewing.

The family photo....we will have to photo shop Mark in later.

Mecakippi

Here is my parents house.....

in Mississippi

It's got country air and country land

country snakes and county deer

The back porch view

And my first line of business is to shoot the dumb @$$ bird that keeps flying into the bedroom window.

SERIOUSLY!
It started 3 or 4 years ago. While here on a visit, we kept hearing a noise and finally followed it to the front porch window. These stupid birds kept flying into the window over and over. It's not like the windows are dirty or anything but they are not see-through clean. Then they started in on the back bedroom window. So now, several years later they still do it. It's not like they have ever gotten in, yet they keep flying into the freaking window.WTH?!?!

This is a very short (8second) clip of Colton saying Mississippi (mecakippi)

Tomorrow is a birthday party for my nephew. And finally the rain has stopped so if the grass ever dries maybe we can enjoy some of this county land!

Will start catching up on my posts tomorrow.....hopefully

MS or BUST

Good Morning my blogging friends...

Have you missed me?

I just have not seem to be able to muster up the energy to post...I know I know, what's my problem?

Anyway, I soon as I type this I am loading the car and driving the boys to Mississippi to visit the fam....

I have decided to leave the dogs here though because they stink so bad that I don't know if I can spend 8 hours in the car with them. So Mark is driving down from OKC this weekend to pick them up and take them up there with him.

So I promise to catch up on all my life's happenings this weekend starting with our visit to OKC last weekend and then catching up on the rest of April.

Wish me luck on the drive, my pops did fly in to drive with me

Hope everyone is having a good week!!

Hippity Hop Hop

Easter's on it's Way

Ok, so Easter is loonngg gone.
I will make this Part 2 or Easter quick and easy, your welcome very much!!

The EB left Batman masks, which have been a huge hit!

After church that morning we came home and cooked for our friends to come enjoy the day with us. We hid EE out front for the kiddos.

The day really couldn't have been more perfect. It was just what I had envisioned, with 1 exception. I imagined the boys coming in from their hunt and all sitting down on the floor opening up their eggs and ooing and aaaing over what each one contained. Then they would say to another one, "look what I found" and the other would say, "oh, but look what I got in my egg". Ok, so that part didn't happen. Instead, once they were back inside, the eggs were haphazardly tossed aside and the batman toys once again reined!
Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!!

And the end of a long day with no sleep and LOTS of sugar results in a beautiful painting on the patio table using sidewalk chalk dipped in bubble solution.
Colton was really focused and into this for probably 30 minutes, long time standards in the world of a 2 year old. I could call his name and he wouldn't even look up. Totally Zoned, but I can respect that. I think I was a little zoned too.

THE END!!

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail

Hopping Down the Bunny Trail
Well, I better get my Easter shenanigans posted before the next holiday is here. So here it goes...Part 1

On Saturday (when Daddy was home) we dyed Easter eggs and of course the little hook-y things to get them in and out of the dye was a gun! I mean why not....everything is a gun these days!

Christian looked really into huh?

The boys (the 3 big boys) had a good time with minimal breakage and only a few blue fingers, mine included!

Then we headed to Market Street to see the Easter Bunny since I opted not to spend freaking $20 on 1 (4x6) photo at the mall that I say I will put up each year, yet each year Easter comes and goes and I fail to be on top of things. This would have been better if the furry guy and been seated, but he was just cruising the isles. Not bad for a "take it yourself"' though! Now if I can only put printing it out on my TO DO list.

The big boys baskets. The one on the right is Connor's. Notice the teddy bear if you can see it. Connor has Teddy and Coco (a bear and dog) that are his babies. He lost Teddy back around Christmas and he is no where to be found. He hasn't cried over him too much since he still has Coco. But when he is tired or upset, a few tears have been shed. I of course could not find the same one, but this new guy is close. So I thought he could be Teddy's cousin Freddy. But Connor loved him, took right to him, and decided to call him Teddy. When I asked about the name Freddy, he said his old Teddy could be Freddy. OK that was easy!! SCORE one for mom!

Christian's basket...he slept through the whole basket goodies morning thing

Here's what the Easter Bunny left me

Aren't I the lucky one?!

Happy Birthday MawMaw

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY
MAWMAW!!!
I LOVE YOU

Today my mawmaw celebrates 90 years of life. I hope to see many more of her birthdays, but with her deteriorating health, I am not sure that will happen.
Mawmaw used to keep me and my sister when we were little. I believe I must get my love of reading from her. I remember her taking us to the library often. She read romance novels. I don't remember how often we went, but she would check out sack fulls of books. Sissy and I used to play library at her apartment. We would get all the books out and stack them up.
She was also a sewer. I used to use all the left over fabrics to make my barbie dolls clothes. But she shared with my sister the real talent of sewing.
Mawmaw made the best teacake cookies. The cookies were good, but the dough was the best. That's the part I was interested in, truth be told.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAWMAW!!
I LOVE YOU

What I've Learned This Week

This week (OK last week) I've Learned
-Don't wait until Good Friday to buy your Easter lunch ham. Some stores were out of hams and the line to get into the Honey Baked Ham store was at least 70 people long. Seriously folks, can't you shop early?
-Don't underestimate the size of a ham. The smallest I could find was almost 8 pounds. Figured I'd be eating ham until Christmas. Ummm, NOPE! We ate the whole darn thing. Good...because now I don't have to figure out what to do with the leftovers!
-Precious and pineapple-not a good combination!
What did you learn?

Here is what I didn't learn (and I asked)
-What is the significance of not eating meat on Fridays during lent?
-Why the tradition of ham on Easter?
If anyone has an answer please help me out. I mean it!!!
Easter was great. I will post on that soon.

My computer still sucks

My house is still for sale

I want one night of sleep

Baby Christian refuses a bottle, like my other 2 did. I must have the best rack in town!

Gettin old sucks! I now have to use eye cream and my shoulder hurts more than not!
