Country Living

Last Sunday we drove 250 miles to meet my parents half way so they could take the big boys
Christian and I are flying there today to join them
Mark is going to come meet us  half way again on Sunday to pick us up

So for the past the 3 days the big boys have been enjoying country living
Which includes lots of animals

Some cute

Some not so cute

Yes, that is 2 snakes
doing exactly what you think they are doing
Horny snakes
I just got the chills

I HATE SNAKES
Hopefully the boys have not been playing in the yard
Porches only from now on because these are not the only snakes that have been seen
or killed

I am sure they have been doing lots and lots of this

The best part of country living is 4 wheel riding
And they must be loving it out there
Because I have called a couple of times a day
And Connor has yet to talk to me
He doesn't want to
How's that for mamma love?

ME....
I had big plans
finish decorating the house
organize the laundry room
Sort the hall closet from where I literally just threw the stuff in there

It didn't really work out as planned

Monday I ran errands and did go into a few stores in downtown Edmond that I have been itching to go to, but would NEVER take my entourage threw
Yesterday I managed to get 1 mirror hung and the floor vacuumed
Christian and I mostly spent the day snuggling
It was fun
and needed
All though now he is even MORE attached to my boob
Didn't think it was possible,
but YES it its

The good news is....
during my floor cleaning I found the part to my camera that went MIA when Colton decided to throw it across the room
So, YEAH
I do not have to figure out how I am going to pay for a new camera right now

OK, bloggies
off to finish packing and tidying

Also, trying to finalize paint colors
The contractor started on Tuesday
He's been in the basement closing off a section of it for Mark's office and then he is painting the kitchen, dining room, family room, and den (they are some crazy colors right now)

So when that is done I will be ready to post some home photos

ggrrrr.....

Anyone want a kid?
I might be looking for a new home for one said boy
I won't say which one
Colton
but he is rare form
Colton
waking before the birds
Colton
getting up everyone in the house
Colton
5am or sooner for weeks now
Colton
biting his brother, daddy, and me
Colton
leaving massive bruises in his teeth's wake
Colton
throwing my things, such as my camera
Colton
breaking said thrown things
Colton
chasing the dogs and pulling tails
Colton

Anyone?Anyone?

Bet you can't guess who it is

So, needless to say, there might not be pictures for a while because now I don't have a camera
Thanks kiddo!!!

YUM-MY

I made a peanut butter and chocolate dip this morning for the boys snack
so they could dip their fruit
It was delicious!!!!
They ate it up
And I had a finger lick or two

1/2 cup creamy natural peanut butter
1/2 cup low fat cream cheese
6 tbs chocolate syrup
1/4 cup carrot puree
pinch of salt
stir together for a special treat

I got this cookbook a couple of years ago and love it

I generally make vegetables every night
Usually just some frozen ones or a steamer bag
And I do make my boys eat them
But getting some extra in is always a plus

Even if you don't sneak in the veggies
 The recipes are pretty yummy
And kid friendly

Which I certainly need at Casa de Lenz
I stopped cooking meals for so long
with Mark's travel and them him living in another state
Plus the boys never eat much
And I got kind of tired of pureeing fruits and veggies

But now that Christian is eating baby food
I just use it
Such a cheater, I know

I tried making homemade baby food with Connor and it was fun
For a while
I gave that up with #2 and with #3
Not a chance

So no peanut butter chocolate dip for "Kis Kis"
(as Colton calls him)
But the veggies he had must have been pretty yummy

How do some kids never make a mess when they eat?
We go through at least 2 spoons, 2 bibs, 1 shirt, and half a dozen paper towels
All my boys have been this messy
OK, so maybe it's just me
Whoops!!!

Hope your week is well
I'm still hanging pictures
Almost done though!!!

Moving Day

So it's been a week since the movers came and went
And I would rather forget that day
But I will journal it this once
Then when Mark tells me he wants to move in a couple of years
I can reference this and say
HELL NO

I stood here in an empty house from the delivery window of 8-10am
Of course it was closer to the 10am end of the time frame
But they finally arrived

Mark had meetings to go to that day
Why on earth, you ask, one may schedule meetings on moving in day?

I DON'T KNOW!!!
We had one blow up fight about it and then I tried to drop it

Luckily we found an hourly drop off day care for the boys so they spent several hours there that day
Otherwise, things would have been bad

I even tried to start unpacking but found that to be impossible since I was the only homeowner there
I had to direct traffic
This piece of furniture here
That box there

Finally the end of the truck was in site

Then the movers just had to put the beds back together
Screw legs on tables
The such
It was past the boys bedtimes by this point and we were all tired

It takes about 2 hours less to unload than load
but still a very long day

Then they drive away
And leave you
with all the hard work
Un-packing Sucks

I did get the kitchen finished by the following day
And I am proud to say that 1 week later all the boxes are unpacked
Except the guest room
That doesn't count right?
You have to have 1 catch-all room until everything else is settled
Today I am starting on the hanging of pictures and displacing of knick knacks
I hope that I am successful in that

The cable people have been here 3 times, finally got it all worked out
The alarm people will be making their third visit today as well
I think I have been to Target,Walmart, and Lowes 15 times

My list of things/wants for decorating this place is quickly growing
My laundry piles are growing even faster

I will try to get it all done so I can share photos of the new casa

I really just wanted to sleep in this morning
Mark said he would let me
So sweet, love him
He took the big boys downstairs this morning
Left me feeding Christian
He did not move so quietly in the kitchen
And did not return soon enough to retrieve the baby
So, maybe tomorrow folks

Until then, it's at least a 2 diet coke kind of day

KNOCK KNOCK

Who's there?

ORANGE

Orange who?

Orange you glad I'm so freaking cute?!?!?

I thought Christian might enjoy a little sneak taste of oranges today.
He would not give it up.

I sure  hope it wasn't to acidic for his tummy. Guess I will find that out later.

I know I have said this a million times, but how about once more....

I am so freaking in love with this little boy of mine.
I could just rub on his smooth skin all day long, from his dimp-ly little butt to his sausage roll toes, those sqooshy thighs to that little spot on his neck.

And I must have my shot of baby breath so many times a day.
What am I going to do when I can no longer get a whiff of that?

He is growing so fast and obviously eating well.
He can not officially crawl, but he gets around....
and quickly!
He kind of does the soldier crawl on his tummy, which forces me to keep clothes on him so he doesn't get carpet burn on his belly.
The other day he almost get himself into a sitting position from laying down. I find it all so amazing how babies learn all of this. It is truly amazing to see God's work!

Ok, enough of the mush
Look at those cheeks and gorgeous blue eyes!!!!

Now Colton, on the other hand, is wearing me out lately.
He hasn't slept past 5am in weeks!
Sleep my child, SLEEP!!!!
We certainly had some angels watching over him today.
During his nap time, he choose not to sleep. Little brat was so tired his could not give it up. After so many attempts and threats, I yelled pretty loud. I thought that did the trick.

Connor and I were making some cookies in the kitchen when I heard the thump and then the screams.
I knew in my gut, what had happened.
So I ran!
Sure enough, he climbed the dresser and it fell over on him.
Luckily it only had pinned by 1 leg.
I screamed down for Connor to bring the phone, EMERGENCY!
He did and ran it to me, Good Big Brother
Colton was scared but fine. That could have been bad my friends.
Real Bad!

Headed to Lowe's first thing in the morning for an anchor strap to tie that sucker to the wall

Still Alive

Still unpacking folks!!!!
And trying to visit preschools. I am finding lots of waiting lists. Great!!! Because I gotta get Connor in something F.A.S.T.

Casey told me to drink RedBull. And I totally would except for Christian drinks my booby juice, so I am limited to 2 diet cokes a day. It helps, but I am still ready for bed at 10pm. I did get most of the work done this weekend while Mark was here to help. Today, it has been slow going.

It is mostly the basement that is left, which is the playroom/office and the guest room. We are going to have the room divided off so that Mark can have his office. There is no carpet down there, just concrete. The previous owners took the carpet out of the bedroom down there to repair a leak. They had the concrete stained. I don't like that. It feels very cold down there. Therefore, I am avoiding it like the plague. Since Mark was here for the last 2 days that was possible. Now he's back at work and I am home with the boys. Not so possible anymore.

So I should get off the computer and get back to work. As soon as I can find the USB cord for my camera, I will post some pictures. Until then, keep the prayers going for my strength and sanity!!!

Thank you

Just wanted to say a quick Thank You to everyone for their encouraging words

They REALLY do/did help. We survived moving day. Now I am anxious to start decorating. Unfortunately I have to unpack first.

So time to get busy. I am up early so I hope to get the kitchen done before the boys get up. That is if I don't find another mouse!!!!

Oh yeah, that's one way to get you loading the boxes back on the truck and head out!!!

Again, thank you for thinking of me and all the sweet words.

I will update you all in little pieces as I can!!!

Update

So we survived moving 'out' day. It took the movers 10 hours to load our stuff. You know what that tells me? That we have too much stuff.
Holy Toledo

We spent the night in the empty house that night. The boys slept on the floor and Mark and I used the blow up bed, with Precious of course. She just makes herself a spot right away. God love her! The next day the carpet cleaners came and the maid. Mark took care of that while I whisked the boys off for one final playdate. We were in OKC by dinner time.

I decided to embrace the town. You know, take the plunge, jump in with both feet (or however the saying goes). Edmond has a week long celebration for the 4th called Liberty Fest. It is actually ranked one of the top places to be in the country for the holiday. On Friday was "chalk it up".
Don't know if you can see it in the above pic, but the kids are each in a parking space for the chalk contest

You could enter the sidewalk chalk coloring contest. We did not enter but went to watch. There was face painting and snow cones, a jump house. Just a few little things for the kiddos. It was fun. It made me feel good.

Saturday we went to the parade.

The whole town was there. Watching my 3 kids sit on the edge of the sidewalk (ok so just 2 of them were doing this) waving their little American flags really hit home for me.

It's not like we couldn't have done something like this in Dallas, but it, too, was a nice feeling. It reminded me of the parade scene from that movie, "Sleeping with the Enemy", with Julia Roberts. Is that the right one?
Anyway, the parade was a bit cheesy but the hometown feeling was there.
And watching a July 4th parade in 75degree weather is nice too. That was not an OKC thing, but a mother nature thing. It rained most of the weekend. It kept us from going to the festivities and fire works the following evening.
This was one of the silly entries in the parade, a bunch of old guys on 3 wheelers. I could not stop laughing at them. I am already putting together my dad's 4 wheeler routine for next year. He's WAY better than them!!!

I have always thought I wanted to raise my family in a smaller town like where I grew up. I certainly believe Edmond is that town. But now that I am there/here, I am second guessing myself. Am I too used to larger towns/suburbs. It's not like I lived in the city. I made a comment to Mark that I felt like I could leave the keys in the car or not lock the door in Edmond. He says he feels like he lives in a "far, far, far, north, north, north suburb of Dallas". Is that good or bad. How should one read into that comment?

But we did go to the zoo. Mark had not been yet, and since it was so cool, we took advantage. We went ahead and got our membership. There is still so much of it to explore.

She is my new favorite gorilla. We have the same matching saggy boobs. I will visit her every time I go. I have decided to call her Big Mamma, like me.

And even with the cooler weather, the bears were playing in the water.
The boys got a kick out of that

We close tomorrow morning on the new house. We needed to get a cashiers check for the closing from our bank so I came back to Dallas to do that. We had some hotel points so I decided to stay the night and get a couple of playdates out of it. I think Mark was itching to get rid of us....2 adults, 3 boys, 2 dogs, 4 days of rain, and 700 square feet do not make a good combination.

This is one of our playdates
Lots of Fun

And I decided to give all 3 boys a bath together. I haven't really put Christian in with the big boys yet, but I was short on time and patience at the hotel, so I did.
And my sister is probably gagging right now at the thought of them sitting down in a hotel bath tub, but Sissy, it was fast. I washed their bottoms last and the got right out.
I SWEAR!!!

We stayed at the 'hotel, motel Holiday Inn'
I cannot say the name of the establishment without singing it like the song
They are usually nothing special, but this one was super nice.
It had a bar and restaurant and a really cool pool area.
This might have to be where I stay when we come back for visits.

OK my friends....keep the Lenzer's in your prayers that closing goes smoothly tomorrow and the movers and our stuff arrives unscathed Friday.
Then the real fun begins for me!!! Lots of unpacking and organizing to do. And I am gonna do it right this time since I am not 9 months pregnant. I never felt settled in our previous home and I know that is why.

Talk to you all soon!!!!

Fish out of Water

That's how we feel here
Not necessarily in OKC
But not in our house
Our schedules are off
The boys are up WAY too late
We are living off of sandwiches and frozen dinners
Our clothes are in bins and suitcases
The dogs have to be walked, multiple times a day

We are however trying to embrace the town
We went to the parade yesterday
Loved it
Sat on the sidewalk and waved little flags

We were going to go to the fireworks tonight
But the weather has been rainy
It was cool enough for a zoo visit this morning though
NICE

I don't have much access to the Internet here
I am on Mark's work laptop now
So no pics, later I promise

We bought a new TV today for the new playroom
OUCH
But Mark is happy

I always try to be extra nice to him on this day
His father passed away 8 years ago today
But I was feeling a bit under the weather most of the day
So he ended up taking care of me
LOVE HIM!!!

Mark is watching Family Guy
???????
I just don't get it
He is laughing his ass off
Out loud, giggling sort of laughs
I think it is the dumbest show ever!!

I am trying to catch up with everyone
Hope you have all enjoyed your July 4th holiday
God Bless the USA

Bye
