HEAT WAVE

Seriously, if I wanted to live in the freaking desert, we would have moved to Arizona. For real....we had the opportunity. This has been the hottest, driest summer EVER! It's hotter in OKC than it is in TX! WTH???? And absolutely zero rain. The plants are dead, the grass is dead and not growing (good news is we are saving money on the mowing), the dogs can't go outside, and neither can we!

All these crazy temps are keeping us in. I'm going a little stir crazy. We have been to the museums 1400 times (more on that in a bit). I have done way too much online shopping. We have eaten out for lunches way, way too many times. I have rearranged the kids rooms. We have built some massive forts.

I have pulled up the carpet in the formal rooms! Mark came home and rolled his eyes. We had been discussing new floors in the 2 rooms, but now we have to. It's the freaking heat people!!

I have rearranged the living room 72 different ways (and still can't find a way I love). Every week when  the hubs comes home it looks different. He asks me "WTH are you doing". It's the heat! And it's my new excuse for everything. Seriously it's making me a little nutso!

We've done lots of playdo, until Christian eats too much.

And now the museum reviews.....
The Sam Noble Museum in Norman
I love this one!!! It's not really a children's place, all though there is a kids room, but it has a dinosaur section. That's why the boys refer to it as the dinosaur museum. It is filled with OK history. It's cheap and it's air conditioned, which makes it tops on my list.

The kid's room had the cutest dinosaur bone dig

The Edmond Museum
A free and air conditioned museum with a cute kids space

It had "old time" rooms set up. Below is the jail. There was a kitchen, a bank, a train station, and a tepee

The Children's Museum
We have a membership to this one and have used it well this summer. We just went yesterday with some friends. This one is always fun. While we only go for a couple of hours at a time, you could certainly spend the entire day learning about everything from teeth to earthquakes

And today, just to torture myself in this lovely heat.....headed to the zoo! Wish me luck

M.I.A.

I'm here
I'm alive
I just have tons on my plate
And even more on my mind
(which I am not ready to share here yet)

So for now I will try and catch up
with the Lenzer happenings
All though
it's not much folks
Fair Warning on the Boredom

This past Saturday was nice weather
Colton had a birthday party at the zoo
Connor had his first soccer game of the spring season
Then we did some yard work
I had 3 little helpers on my job
For ever plant I got in the ground
someone
(not naming any names)
got one pulled

Finally got them preoccupied for a bit

I ran out of flowers and cleaned the patio table
We opted for dinner outside
pizza and beer
we went all out
I really hope it doesn't freeze again
and kill everything I planted
I bought a few more flowers this morning
to finish off the 1 section I started
(3 more areas to go)

We have been to the zoo
several times in the last couple of weeks
The temperatures are up and down right now
So if it is a sunny day
We are there

However
Christian wants to walk
EVERYWHERE
now
so we don't get very far inside the zoo

We have been spending lots of time
in the driveway
riding bikes and scooters and trikes

Mark just took the training wheels off of Connor's bike
gasp
so hopefully I will have news on the that to report soon
success news
not broken arm news

If I have to pick up all the food off the floor
one more time
From Christian dumping it
I might just put my head through the wall
I bought some straps to try and lock it up
They don't work
He just pulls harder
I bought storage bins with lids
(the shoebox type)
to put food in
hoping that would deter him
He gets the lids off

And he's obsessed with the mixer
Yes I still have an old school hand mixer
He drags this thing around everywhere

He has been entertaining himself more though
He, too, loves legos

He will play for 30 minutes sometimes

until he gets himself in a situation
that makes him mad
then he screams
he got on the windowsill and couldn't get down

I hope this video works
I seem to be having issues getting it to play here
But the big boys entertain me lots lately

That's most of what I have for now
We are on spring break this week
Have a few play dates planned
and hoping to meet some Dallas friends
halfway at the
Arbuckle Wilderness Drive thru zoo
Trying to finish preparing for vacation leaving next weekend
I don't think I have even posted about it
We are headed to San Diego and Disney Land
We are going to see Casey while we are there
And meeting up with my fave cous Cindy at Disney
our kids have never met
so I cannot wait

Let's try this video
Connor reading like a champ

Connor turns 5 while we are on vacation
4 was really hard for me
I thought 5 would be no big deal
but now that it is approaching
wowza
kind of hard
Every day he seems bigger and smarter
I love that boy

Oh yeah
Christian's off the boob
He just stopped
bittersweet
The other night he woke up with a tummy ache
and it was the only time he asked for "boobie"

Toodles
my friends
(let me know if the videos work)

Staying aFloat

The boys and I went to Dallas Wednesday after school
I had to go to the Dentist
YAY no cavities
And the boys had play dates scheduled
Mark came down Friday after work
We had 2 birthday parties Saturday
And my birthday dinner that evening

We are home and worn out
At least I am
I am now trying to get back into the swing of things
Funny how only a couple of days off of your routine can mess you up
Laundry is piled up again
Grocery shopping had to be done late last night
Sheets are dirty
And I swear I am
NEVER
TRAVELLING
ALONE
WITH THE BOYS
AGAIN
EVER!!!

Christian may have drank from a cup
HOORAY
Could the end of nursing be in sight?

I must have left my camera cord at the MIL's house
So as soon as I locate a spare I will post pictures and stories

Today I could scratch my eyeballs out
What ever is in the air
I no likey
I have sneezed a half million times
I know, that's alot
But it's true
I swear
I have counted

We have been invited to our first birthday party here
HALLELUJAH
And it's a costume party
BONUS

Connor hasn't stopped talking since we returned
OK, so he never stops
Not even in his sleep
Swear it!
You can't make this stuff up folks

Colton hasn't quit whining
What's new right
Since he had the terrible 2's,
We are praying for terrific 3's
Is it possible?

OMG
Cried my eyes out watching Oprah yesterday
She had a couple on....very cute couple
3 kids, ages 5, 4, and 2
Dad was working
Mom and her mom took the kids to a parking lot fair kind of deal
Headed home for naps...
Got stuck in traffic for construction and a semi hit them at 55 MPH
Reader's Digest version
All 3 kids died (1 boy, 2 girls)
The parents, thru major depression, promised each other not to commit suicide and leave the other alone
Almost 1 year to the date of the accident
They had triplets
1 boy, 2 girls
Chill bumps?
