Play dates a plenty

Last week we had to very fun play dates with our friends, mommy Bethany and Ilan 3 and Castel 1. They came over one afternoon to play and stayed for dinner. It makes for a messy house, but the hours fly by. The next day we went to Chuck E Cheese...the best $5 a mom can spend. That much in coins can go a long way for a toddler.

Puzzle Mania-and other fun stuff

So I don't know what the norm is since this is my oldest. But this is a 48 piece puzzle-
48 PIECES!!!
Again, I don't know what's normal, but this is pretty impressive to me! I bought Connor this puzzle on Sunday and did it with him 1 time ( I did about half) and then the second time I did about 4 or 5 pieces. Monday morning, the next time he wanted to play puzzle, he did it all by himself. He likes it so much he woke up Wednesday night at 2 am just too play puzzle. After about 20 minutes of hearing noises in his room, I went up there to find him in the middle of the bed with the pieces all spread out. I asked him what he was doing up in the middle of the night. He said, ummm I'm just playing my puzzles. I finally convinced him to finish it in the morning.
The boys were so good (well mostly) this week, at least the first half of the week, that I took them to the toy store. They got to pick out a toy. I also got them a train conductor outfit, complete with a whistle.
Now that's a happy boy!

Just playing

All Aboard

Of all the toys in all of Toys-R-Us....Connor picks out this hideous Incredible Hulk Mask, with glowing green eyes and all! His choice right. It must be a boy thing!!

Texas Sun

Nothing can run this red headed, fair skinned girl in quicker than 90+ degrees and last week Texas had it's first of the year. I can, however, guarantee that it will NOT be the last!! So when days get hot, big mamma takes the boys to do indoor things...I know terrible but lets face it, the slides are even to hot to slide down. Spring lasted all of 3 weeks around here...gotta love TEXAS!!

This time we went to Collin Creek Mall play area, one of my favorites because it's not crowded and the area is age appropriate for both kiddos. We also made our usual stop at the Disney Store and since it was Earth Day we turned in some plastic bottles for a free cup. Connor found a Toy Story T-shirt and it was on clearance so I let him get it. We had to leave the mall after that, less than an hour into our trip, so that he could go home to change into his new shirt.
Have you ever heard of a toddler who changes more than Connor?

Rain, Rain Go Away

It's raining, it's pouring
The old man is snoring!!
There was not enough songs or rhymes to entertain us last week. It rained, what felt like non-stop, for 4 days. Luckily now the forecast is showing a warm up and some sun. To busy ourselves we made a fort. Apparently I need some practice in this area-it had a hard time staying together. I remember building them at mawmaw's house with the kitchen chairs. Oh, maybe that's where I went wrong...I should have used more furniture.

Super heros

So I know I am kind of out of order but that's what happens when you get behind. I have mentioned Connor's friend Hailey before (from the gym- he calls her K). The two are inseparable and so adorable together. When I got finished with my workout on Thursday I went to the child care room to get him and he and Hailey (K) were dressed up as super heroes. Connor told me he was a bad guy.

Galleria

On Thursday I needed to go to the Galleria Mall to get something so we went early to play in kids area. They have the best one in town, it's too bad it is so far away. Connor, as always, had a fabulous time. Colton really ventured out on his own. I think he is finally beginning to enjoy walking. With his hands free to feel and grab at things there is a lot to see and do. Even cuter is when Connor takes his hand and tries to lead him someone. Well sometimes it's cute. Sometimes he drags Colton around and that usually causes an accident.

The park

Thursday we went to the park to enjoy the beautiful February weather. Bethany brought her boys, Ilan and Castel. Connor and Ilan played very well together in the sand. We did not hear them arguing even once. And they only threw the sand a couple of times (that we witnessed anyway). Colton is just now starting to get into the playground. The slides are slightly more interesting than eating the wood chips (well most days anyway). Maybe in another year or so all 4 boys will be able to play safely and nicely so that Bethany and I can actually talk. Does that ever happen?

Washing Dishes

Connor went to Mark on New Year's Day with a handful of cups and bowls and said he wanted to wash dishes. And so he did! He starts off on the counter and the next time you check on him he is naked and in the sink!!! Maybe if we all cleaned in the nude we could get as much enjoyment out of it!! Just a thought!

Connor is definetly our cleaner. I let you guess which parent gave him that trait. Figured it out yet? I'm not telling....I wouldn't want to embarass anyone!!
