What I've Learned

  • My new washer and dryer hold a LOT of clothes. It's great. I can do laundry twice a week or just one load a day if I want. But doing massive loads means you have to put UP massive loads-ggrrr!
  • Melted snow=NASTY! I love the snow. It is gorgeous. I really don't even mind staying home so much. It is certainly better for everyone's napping schedule when we just stay home.
  • We have a lot of birds, specifically red birds. They are easy to spot in the bare trees, especially with a blanket of white on the ground. I bought a bird feeder.
  • Colton's "blankies" have bad static electricity. You can really tell at night when they actually spark. Kind of freaks me out.
  • Connor can read! But mostly he is just memorizing the story. I find it a bit irritating.
  • Blowing my nose so much lately is making me really dizzy.
  • I'm tired of being fat! I may have hit rock bottom today.
  • When you live in an old(er) home at winter time....brrr rabbit! The boys windows had ice on the inside. You can feel major cold breezes by all the doors. I have the rolled up towel "snake" at the doors.

Here is what I have NOT learned lately

  • How to get the birds to find my bird feeder. I hung it on the deck from a planter hook for now. I don't want to keep it there because I don't want the birds pooping on my deck, but I will need to purchase a hanger of some sort or find a good tree limb when the snow is gone.
  • How to get Connor to read more and memorize less! Is this part of the normal stages of learning to read?
  • How to get those clothes to fold themselves!

What I've Learned

What I've Learned
(mostly from Thanksgiving)

-ALL my knives are dull
I might have better luck slicing a tomato with a butter knife

-If you leave out a key ingredient from a pie, it is NOT edible

-Frisco has taken over the window seat in the kitchen

-It takes HOURS to prepare 1 special meal and it is over in 14 minutes

-Our Elf (Mickey) is doing a lousy job
I might report him to SC

What I've Learned

This week I have learned:

- Don't stick your finger in a coke can. I had one arm full of baby and the other hand full of garbage and tried to grab a diet coke can for the trash by sticking my finger very carefully in the whole. YOWZA!!!! Dang near took the top of my finger off

- You do what you have to do when your freshly potty trained kid has to potty and you are sandwiched in in the carpool line. Even if you got out of the line and went to the closest gas station and got everyone out of the car, it would be too late. So you grab a water bottle and let the boy go!

- $150 worth of groceries doesn't get you through the week. We had to have pizza for dinner

- Connor better be smart, cause he is not gonna be a soccer star

- Texas loosing is almost as gratifying as Oklahoma winning for Mark, which = happiness for me

- Christian is allergic to mosquitoes- Is that even possible? But he will get HUGE welts from them, almost immediately. The last few nights when we have been outside playing I have sprayed us with OFF and the stickin' mosquito's will find the one unsprayed spot, on the top of his hand or inside his shirt. They just eat him and me, seem to leave the big boys alone for the most part....weird huh?

Here is what I would like to learn
Maybe you can help
Do folks not eat as a family anymore?
I don't expect it every night. Kids have practice and hubby's have to travel or work late, but a few times a week it is so hard to sit down together? I even remember EVERY. SINGLE. SUNDAY going to Granny's house for lunch after church. And it was a feast. We never questioned it or asked to do something else. We went, we ate, we played. Life was good. My cousins came once or twice a month and they lived an hour or more away.

What I've Learned

It's been a while since I have done this kind of post
so one could say I haven't learned much lately
Which is probably totally true
So here goes nothing

What I've Learned Lately
-I LOVE it when Christian is nursing and makes "mmm" noises, makes me feel like I am doing something right

-Baby teeth are really, really sharp

-Summer break is too long with out a good plan

-I TOTALLY did not have a good plan for this summer

-The gas stations cut you off at $75

-When you miss your weekly fill up, which is usually at half full/empty (depending on how see things), and the gas light comes on...it costs more than $75 to fill 'er up

-Connor really misses his buddies, I pray he makes some good friends fast next week when school starts

-I need a maid, I desperately miss Margarita (not the drink, the lady) and my PB paychecks to pay for her

-I wish I still had my job, maybe I will venture out to the PB here one day soon and see if there is anything I can work out

-Cheap wine is not always bad

What I've,t Learned

So I haven't done "What I've Learned" in a while, so one might think I have a lot to say. The truth is I probably just haven't learned that much lately. Hopefully I can think of some good things. Here goes nothing....

This week (or lately) I have Learned...

-Celine Dion is pregos with twins. The stars always seem to have twins. I always thought I wanted twins. Good thing God knows what He's doing. Did you know that for a crazy Canadian, Celine has some gorgeous legs?? JEALOUS

-Cleaning up dog poo/puke is WAY worse than cleaning up kid poo/puke. And yes, I have had to clean up  kid poo several times. My boys like to be naked and/or take off their diapers.

-I can NOT stand the Real Housewives of NY or NJ! I think women that have nothing better to do than talk so bad about each other behind backs (or to faces in some cases) and be so caddy (is that how you spell that?) is sad. I kind of feel sorry for them. They have all this money and are still so miserable.

-Snotty noses and fever do NOT equal antibiotics. It cost me $100 in dr office visit fees to learn that one

-The big boys are never gonna be super stars (more on this little teaser later)

- 4 is soooo much better than 3

- I need to buy more clothes, I am doing WAY too much laundry!!!!!

What I DID NOT Learn this Week....

-What my dogs are eating to make them so freaking sick

-Why I can NOT stop watching the very women I hate, the Real Housewives of NJ/NY....seriously cannot turn the TV off, even if I have seen the episode

- Still have not learned how to move my pics from my old pc over to my new one

What I've Learned This Week

This week (OK last week) I've Learned
-Don't wait until Good Friday to buy your Easter lunch ham. Some stores were out of hams and the line to get into the Honey Baked Ham store was at least 70 people long. Seriously folks, can't you shop early?
-Don't underestimate the size of a ham. The smallest I could find was almost 8 pounds. Figured I'd be eating ham until Christmas. Ummm, NOPE! We ate the whole darn thing. Good...because now I don't have to figure out what to do with the leftovers!
-Precious and pineapple-not a good combination!
What did you learn?

Here is what I didn't learn (and I asked)
-What is the significance of not eating meat on Fridays during lent?
-Why the tradition of ham on Easter?
If anyone has an answer please help me out. I mean it!!!
Easter was great. I will post on that soon.

My computer still sucks

My house is still for sale

I want one night of sleep

Baby Christian refuses a bottle, like my other 2 did. I must have the best rack in town!

Gettin old sucks! I now have to use eye cream and my shoulder hurts more than not!

What I've Learned This Week

This week I have learned...
Truth be told, I haven't learned all that much this week. I have been too stressed and busy!
Ok, so here is what I learned
-I am way more sad and emotional about my baby Connor turning 4 than I was about him turning 1!!!
And that is the main thing I have been stressed about. His birthday is tomorrow, but his party is this afternoon so there will be lots more on this topic.
What have you learned this week?
Random Crap...
-I haven't posted or read any posts this week because my computer sucks!!! It takes about 30 minutes to even get my email checked. If/when we sell the house I can get a new one. So here's hopin this thing lasts with out me throwing it out the back door (and I am not kidding). I am not above that kind of behavior. Almost purchased one from QVC this morning but Mark came in the room!
-I will catch up this next week if at all possible
-I got my hair did this week. I had to try a new colorist and stylist, as they had both left the salon and I could no longer afford them. I love it!!! So nice not to have greys staring at you in the mirror, mocking your very existence.
-Planning a trip home to visit my folks/family at the end of the month
-Lowered the price of the house last weekend with hopes and prayers the right buyer will come along before this tax credit ends next month. Had 3 showings last week and 1 scheduled this afternoon. Keep praying blogging peeps....need all the prayers I can get! Still haven't had the right buyer, OBVIOUSLY!
-I will be an aunt again by Tuesday...can't wait to meet my new nephew
-I'm a whore...a chocolate whore!!

What I've Learned

This week I have learned.....
-Spring Break should be followed by momma's Spring Break!! SERIOUSLY.... I love my kids, but I really love preschool
-Tori Spelling's marriage is in trouble (thanks to the trash mag that hubby brought home from the grocery store, yes he did the grocery shopping for me this week-thank the Lord)
Here is what I did NOT learn....
-WTH am I eating that is not nice to my baby?! He has the worst stomach ever

What I've Learned

This week I have learned....
-Don't cry over spilled milk, just let the dogs lick it up
Besides, there are much better (or worse depending on how you see it) things to cry over. Like when you have just finished vacuuming and mopping all the floors and someone pisses all over the place (either in the bathroom because they look around while peeing or on the carpet because someone takes off his diaper these days). And lets face it, you just can't let the dogs lick up pee. That would just be gross!
-My dogs don't eat grapes OR strawberries. NICE!!! Now I have to bend over and pick the crap up.. Watch out dogs, if you start slacking on your floor cleaning duty you just might find yourselves let out the front door. OK. totally kidding!! I do not just use my dogs to clean up messes. Precious is also responsible for keeping my feet warm at night.
-I also learned that the TX state insect is the monarch butterfly and the state bird is the Mockingbird (taught to me by my 3 year old, super smart son Connor)
-I also learned that COCO sharts. Nice visual Coco, thanks for that!HA

What I've Learned

This week I have learned

-If you let your dogs eat up the jar of spilled peanuts, you should definitely keep them outside for at LEAST 2 days

-Colton does not like to eat his boogers like Connor did, but sure does want you to hold them
"buga, hea hea" (booger, here here)

-A haircut to cover up/blend in a child's handy work is never cute

-Time with friends, spouses, family is very important to the relationship (even by phone or email)

-Time for yourself is equally important...didn't get any, but realized it is needed

What I've Learned

This week I have learned
( OK so it's been more than a week but you get the idea)
-You can not substitute eggs in a box brownie mix no matter what the Internet says
-look 101 times in the fridge for the eggs because they really are right there in front of you
-never hold a baby up over your head, you certainly will get spit up on
-never, EVER hold a baby up over your head with your mouth open, the results are the same as above, only way worse
-I am addicted to vanilla flavored goldfish
I kind of like reflecting back on my week and what I have learned, so I might make this a new segment (yeah you know, in all my spare time I have for blogging)
What have you learned this week??
