The Birth

On Tuesday night, the night before Christian's birth, I was a nervous wreck. I don't like hospitals and doctors and the thought of the whole procedure just messes with my mind. So needless to say, I was up all night.Well that is not entirely true. I slept until about 1am, then I was up for the rest of the night. i had to be at the hospital at 5:30am and by the time I was suppose to get up to get ready, I was starving but could not eat. The good news is my hunger did not last long, nor did my fear. My biggest fear was of the epidural, or spinal block, which was going to be put in while i was in the OR versus the pro-op room like in the past. But it was actually easier since it kicked in instantly. I shared my fears with the doctor and asked her to talk to me, which she did.

My Final prego picture, EVER!
(kind of sad)

Just before the procedure began

Peek-a-Boo

This is the moment that makes you forget every pain, pound, and bit of tiredness from the last 40 weeks! The feelings and thoughts I have at this VERY moment I
cannot put into words. This moment I could experience every day of my life. This moment makes me want a hundred more. This moment is etched into my memory forever.

I still find it hard to believe that a baby comes out of a 4" incision

Seriously...4 inches!!

It was much cozier inside, but a screaming cry has never sounded sweeter!

7 pounds 10 ounces

Our first meeting

Our first mommy, daddy, and baby photo (and yes Mark is on the phone)

Such a great daddy!

Back in our pre/post op room where we had to stay for about an hour before I got my room. The hospital had made some changes since our last visit all centered around mother-baby bonding. Part of this was the baby, as long as he is healthy, does not go to the nursery. He went from the operating room back to my pre/post op room with me. He stayed in the baby warmer there, got his bath and his shots all right there in front of us. Once his temperature was good and I was OK, we went to our room. Mark actually pushed him to the other room right along side of me.

He hated getting his hair washed and bath.

I could not have had a better Thanksgiving!
