Here is Colton in the waiting room of the surgery center early this morning, oblivious to the minor procedure he was about to have, ear tubes. While he has had only a few ear infections in his short 16 months, the last one was a doozie. While the actual infection finally cleared up the fluid inside both his ears would not go away. All that fluid in a little ones ears leaves them hearing everything muffled.
Once we opened the doors and started walking down the hallway, he started getting upset. Partially because it frightened him but I am guessing by this time hunger was setting in causing most of his crankiness. He went with the anaesthesiologist without even crying, oh my sweet baby boy! The actual procedure takes less than 6 minutes and then he was in recovery waking up for about 10 more before Mark and I got back there. We had to sit with him for a long 30 minutes, and I say long because he was very upset the whole time. He was disoriented and hungry and inconsolable. He cried most of the way home.
But in this picture, taken just shortly after getting home, he was eating and playing and has hopefully forgotten the morning already! This one felt like a breeze compared to the tonsils we dealt with just a few months ago with with Connor....at least we knew what to expect this time.

Glad to see he did so well. Lacey had her second set about 3 weeks ago .... and she has already had her tonsils and adnoids out too.

So what's up with the Big Brother and Bigger Brother t-shirts on the e-mail you sent? Are you trying to tell us something?
